  • How is BookBildr for Education different from BookBildr for Personal Use?

BookBildr for Education includes group-account management, student invitations, project sharing, teacher and peer comments, and unlimited PDF downloads.

BookBildr for Personal Use is intended for individuals. It does not require a monthly subscription, but PDF downloads and printed books are purchased separately.

Some Education plans also include AI illustration credits and discounted printing. Please see our Plans and Pricing page for the current plan details.

Plans, Accounts & Billing

  • Which plans are available?

BookBildr for Education offers plans for homeschool families, small groups, classrooms and schools. The main difference is the number of member accounts supported and the additional features included with each plan.

Larger Classroom XL and Classroom XXL options are also available. Please visit our Plans and Pricing page for current limits and prices.

A Personal plan is also available for single creators looking for unlimited PDF downloads and professional printing.

  • What is a member account?

A member account is an individual account that belongs to your BookBildr group. Members can create and save their own book projects.

The plan owner manages the group and invites members to join.

  • Which plan should I choose?

Choose a plan based primarily on the number of people who need accounts:

    • Homeschool for a family or very small learning group

    • Small Group for tutoring groups, clubs or small classes

    • Classroom for a standard class

    • Classroom XL or XXL for larger classes and programs

    • School for organization-wide access

If you need more accounts than the listed plans provide, contact us for a custom quote.

  • Are subscriptions billed monthly?

Yes. BookBildr for Education subscriptions are billed monthly in US dollars on a recurring basis.

There is no long-term contract, and you can pause or cancel your subscription at any time. Pausing your subscription freezes your subscription for a certain period of time, during which you will not be billed. Once the freeze period is over, recurring billing will resume.

Cancellation stops future recurring payments; it does not normally refund a billing period that has already started.

  • Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Please contact us if you need to change your plan. We will help you choose the appropriate option and explain how the change affects your group accounts and billing.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards. Available payment methods are shown during checkout.

Payments are processed by established external payment providers. BookBildr does not store complete card details on its servers.

  • Do you offer a free trial?

BookBildr for Education offers a 7-day free trial for group plans and a 3-day free trial for the Personal plan.

  • Can I receive a refund for an unused subscription?

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable after a billing period has started. You can continue using your account until the end of the paid period and cancel recurring billing to prevent the next charge.

Please consult our Terms of Use for the complete cancellation and refund policy.

  • What happens when I cancel?

our subscription remains active until the end of the paid billing period. After the subscription expires, the plan owner and group members may lose access to subscription features.

We recommend downloading any required PDFs and contacting us about project access before your subscription ends.

Student Accounts and Classroom Management

  • Can several students edit the same book?

BookBildr’s sharing tools are designed for viewing and feedback rather than simultaneous collaborative editing. Each project belongs to its creator, and shared users cannot alter the original book.

Students can still collaborate by planning together, exchanging feedback and creating coordinated books.

  • How do I invite students?

You can invite students by email or create a reusable group sign-up link.

A sign-up link is especially useful when a school blocks messages from external senders or when students do not use email addresses. Students open the link, create their accounts and join the correct group.

  • Do students need email addresses?

Students can join through a teacher-generated sign-up link, so an individual email invitation is not required.

Account and sign-in require an email address.

  • Can I add or remove members?

The plan owner can manage group membership from the account area. Your subscription determines the maximum number of member accounts that can belong to the group.

  • Can teachers view student projects?

Students can share projects with teachers directly from the editor. Teachers can open the shared project and leave comments without changing the student’s work.

  • Can students share projects with classmates?

Yes. Students can share projects with members of their group and receive peer comments.

Sharing provides view-and-comment access. Other students cannot directly edit the original project.

Creating Books

  • Do students need design experience?

No. BookBildr provides an easy visual editor with ready-to-use images, backgrounds, text tools, page formats and editing features.

Students can build pages by adding and arranging content directly in the editor.

  • Can students upload their own images?

Yes. Students can upload their own photos, artwork and illustrations and combine them with images from BookBildr’s library.

Users are responsible for ensuring that they have permission to use uploaded material, particularly photographs of other people and copyrighted content.

  • Can students write in languages other than English?

Yes. BookBildr supports text in many languages and provides access to a wide selection of Google Fonts.

Font and writing-system support varies, so we recommend creating a short test page before beginning a large multilingual project.

  • Can I paste text from Microsoft Word or Apple Pages?

Yes, but text copied from word-processing software may include hidden formatting.

For the best results, paste as plain text and then apply fonts, sizes, colors and alignment inside BookBildr. On many computers, the shortcut for pasting as plain text is Ctrl+Shift+V or Cmd+Shift+V.

You can create and save as many book projects as you like while your subscription is active.

  • Which book sizes are available?

BookBildr supports several popular formats, including A5, 6×9 inches, 8.5×8.5 inches, A4 and US Letter.

Available printing and binding options depend on the selected size and the number of pages.

  • How should I prepare a book for printing?

    Before ordering:

    • Keep important text and images inside the visible margin guides.

    • Check the front and back covers carefully.

    • Review every page for spelling and positioning.

    • Use the spread view to check facing pages.

    • Confirm that the selected format, page count and binding are compatible.

Always review the final preview before placing a print order.

  • Can students use BookBildr’s image library in their books?

Users may not extract and resell unaltered library images as standalone products.

  • Do Education plans include AI illustrations?

Selected group Education plans include AI illustration credits. AI availability is shown in the plan comparison on our Plans and Pricing page.

The Homeschool plan does not currently include Education AI credits.

  • What happens when the included AI credits are used?

AI illustrations are subject to the credit allowance associated with your plan. Please consult your account or contact us for information about the current allowance and additional-credit options.

  • Are there rules for AI-generated images?

AI tools must be used responsibly and in accordance with our Terms of Use and content policies.

Users should not request illegal, harmful, sexually explicit, hateful, deceptive or privacy-invading content. Teachers are responsible for supervising student use of AI features.

Students control project sharing through the available group-sharing tools, subject to the permissions and settings of their accounts.

  • Does BookBildr display advertising to students?

No. BookBildr for Education does not display third-party advertising inside the book-creation environment.

  • Who owns the books created by users?

BookBildr does not claim ownership of original user-created content.

Copyright ownership can depend on who created the work and applicable law. Schools, teachers, parents and students should follow their own agreements and local requirements concerning student work.

  • What may I upload?

Only upload material that you created, that you have permission to use, or that may legally be used for your intended purpose.

Technical Requirements and Troubleshooting

  • Which devices are supported?

BookBildr is fully functional on desktops, tablets, smartphones and Chromebooks.

  • Which browser should I use?

We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome on a desktop or laptop computer.

BookBildr may also work in other current browsers, but Chrome provides the most consistently supported experience. Safari is not currently supported.

  • Why have some unused uploaded images disappeared?

To keep storage efficient, unused uploaded images may be removed after seven days. Images already placed in a saved book project are not normally removed for this reason.

You can upload the original image again if needed.

  • What should I do if my project does not save?

    First:

Check that your internet connection is stable.

    Keep the editor tab open.

Do not repeatedly refresh the page.

Confirm that you are using the latest version of Chrome.

Confirm that your username does not include spaces.

Temporarily disable browser extensions that may block scripts or connections.

If the project still does not save, stop editing and contact us. Include your username, project title, browser and the approximate time the problem occurred.

  • What should I do if saved content is missing?

Stop working on the affected project and contact us as soon as possible. Continuing to edit may overwrite a recoverable version.

Include your username, project title and the approximate date and time when the content was last present. We will check whether a recent backup can be restored.

  • Where can I get more help?

Visit our documentation for step-by-step instructions or contact us directly. When reporting a technical problem, include your username, project title, device, browser and screenshots if available.
